September 2018
From the Chair
Did you know that the Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems- ISO 19011:2018 came out in August 2018? This latest revision provides guidance on managing your audit program, planning and conducting management system audits, and ensuring competence of auditors and audit teams.
For companies planning to recertify to ISO 9001:2015, these guidelines are a must-have for both internal and external auditors conducting those audits. In addition, ASQ's Certified Quality Auditor Body of Knowledge was updated and the exam will test to this new standard. The 2018 standard:
- addresses risk-based thinking concepts as applied to audits, including audit program risk
- acknowledges the need to consider remote auditing and the effects technology on auditing
- expands guidance on audit planning, and the competence requirements for auditors
We are excited to see what 2019 will bring for ASQ Section 1206!!! Would you like to showcase your organization at a monthly ASQ meeting? We would like to have members come and see your business and hear how you build Quality into your organization.
Topics could include: CAPA, Root Cause, Quality systems, Doc control, Continuous Improvement, Supplier Quality, or Risk.
Please contact me and we can arrange it!
